Building on its secular Oriental Studies tradition and its contemporary vocation to internationalisation, "L’Orientale" University of Naples (founded in 1732) has always promoted cooperation and establishes partnerships with universities around the world, pursuing full integration in the European university system and aiming at strengthening the international character of research. The close network of international relations also allows to fully develop the international mobility of teachers, researchers and students.
The conference will take place in Du Mesnil Palace, one of the most important historical building of Naples located in via Chiatamone 61/62, and now the headquarters of the Rectorship. The Palace was built between the seventies and eighties of the nineteenth century by the brothers of a noble family of Belgian origin, Ermanno and Oscar Du Mesnil, from which it takes its name. Of extreme magnificence, the interior is subjected to tie of the Superintendence for the artistic goods. The mythological frescoes are partly unsigned; the others are the work of Paolo Vetri (Domenico's Morelli student) and Joseph Mazerolle. The interior is mostly Baroque and neoclassical style, while the furniture is eighteenth-century taste.
The city area around the conference venue has plenty of hotels and B&B, with a range of prices that satisfies all needs. In view of the fact that there are many different possibilities to book a hotel via the internet we decided not to give a conventions list that can sometimes be less convenient of what is possible to get looking at the net. People attending the Conference can find accommodation easily either in historic centre either near the Conference venue. Hotels located near the Du Mesnil Palace are:
